Old Town IT seeks experienced software developers, project managers, marketing managers, graphic artists and quality assurance professionals to join us in either our Alexandria, VA or Springfield, MO office.
Old Town IT is a thriving consulting and software development firm dedicated to developing solutions for the association sector. Our clientele represent some of the largest and most prestigious associations in the industry and we have built our reputation on creating client-centric, technically superior products and solutions.
Developers: we seek candidates with a strong background in ASP.NET, C#, SharePoint and SQL Server who enjoy working closely with great clients and seeing the results of their labor put into production on a regular basis. Experience with AMS systems (netFORUM in particular), Microsoft Reporting Services and web content management systems such as Drupal, and/or DotNetNuke is a plus. Excellent communications and problem solving skills and a high attention to detail are essential for this position.
Project Managers: we seek candidates with a relentless attention to detail, exceptionally strong writing and oral communications skills and a zeal for organizing resources, projects and deliverables. Previous association experience or experience working with AMS systems (netFORUM in particular) is a big plus.
Quality Assurance Professionals: we seek a Quality Assurance professional with a passion for their craft to help deliver consulting projects and new products. The successful candidate will have expertise in software system testing, writing use cases and test cases and documentation, and customer service. This team member will perform testing, work with Project Managers and developers to define project requirements and serve as a primary customer service contact for clients.
Key capabilities include:

- Experience with Association Management Software systems in general and Avectra's netFORUM a plus.

Tim Ward is the founder and President of Old Town IT.
With more than twenty years of experience in the technology arena, Mr. Ward is an expert in translating the unique business needs of associations, non-profits and private corporations into Web-based technology solutions that optimize business processes and create new efficiencies.
Since starting Old Town IT in February of 2007, Mr. Ward has helped many organizations with complex technology requirements, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, the Urban Land Institute, the U.S. Travel Association and many more.
Prior to founding Old Town IT, Mr. Ward served as the Chief Technology Officer at Avectra, Inc. where he led all aspects of software development including database design, systems development and architecture, integration, interoperability, quality control, and change management. Mr. Ward served as the chief architect of the company's ABLAZE, AvectraFORUM and netFORUM product lines and had been with the firm since its inception as a founder and principle.
Previously, Mr. Ward worked as a consultant to the federal government on projects for various federal agencies including the Executive Office of the President, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Information Agency, and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
Mr. Ward has been active in the Northern Virginia technology community as a member of the Washington DC Area CTO roundtable and serving as chairman of the ASAE Data Standards Task Force Development working group.
Mr. Ward holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and their two children.
